Wild Orchid is the name of the most popular female lingerie shop chain in Russia which opened in 90s.
Named after American erotic movie Wild Orchid (1989), which was very popular on post-Soviet territory and along with the other movies and magazines was a part of sexual emancipation, when sex came out of the shadow. Sex topic was on the top of public unconscious. So the shop chain gave the Russian women so desirable possibility to look and feel sexy.At first this image of sexual goddess was associated with erotic movies such as Wild Orchid , 9 1/2 weeks, Emmanuelle.
