In mid-October London becomes the world capital of modern art. And now there is no doubts about the fact ! Frieze Art Fair, founded by publishers of the same name avant-garde magazine Frieze, immediately has acquired its fame, and for several seasons has become an extremely popular place.
The initial idea was to create the progress and focus on critical and radical art. Therefore, apart from presenting traditional galleries you can Frame section for young galleries and Projects section for young artists.
Although, art critics believe that with growing commercial success of the Fair the ability to choose and find the most interesting and burning is dying away, the fair is still very appealing for curious public, as you an always find something scandalous or funny there.
This year there are a lot of galleries from Eastern Europe and the Middle East, as well as American and British ones.
When the success of Frieze Art Fair became unquestionable, major auction houses made a rush to take advantage of increased concentration of contemporary art lovers in the city. Thus, the October auctions of Contemporary Art are already in London auction houses calendars.
