Modern fashion industry is constantly looking for inspiration from the past. So do us!
GI is stunned by the photo session in VMAN #16 made by Karl Lagerfeld. It is fantastic! This time Karl acted as a stylist and photographer using the clothes of well-known brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Salvatore Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Versace, Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus, Yves Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten.
The models are Baptiste Giabiconi, Iris Strubegger & Oriol Elcacho.
The magazine’s photo session description offers us to plunge into the times of old-world elegance and tailoring we saw in the old movies and to do justice to such great style icons like the Duke of Windsor, Rudolph Valentino, Gary Cooper, and Baron Nicolas De Gunzburg.
Why not to find those movies to be completely inspired with this great epoch!
By the way, step by step Rudolph Valentino has identified himself with his heroes. Their love to luxury fully penetrated into his style: his handkerchiefs were embroidered  with the initials, the rings and cufflinks were covered with precious or semiprecious stones, watches and cigarette cases inlaid with diamonds.
And what about you? 🙂
