By the way, not so many people remember nowadays that Noir presented to the world a woman vamp character. She is an essential part of the movie Idea.

Woman, who often played by her own rules, usually, fell in love with the main character, and then used him. Or, other way around, she used him, and then fell in love. There was an intrigue in any case. Walking on the razor’s edge.

Extremely beautiful and sexually appealing Noir woman manipulates men. Usually, she is not the one who seems…

Hero tries to resist the charms of a femme fatale who draws him strongly against his will, but often this fatale inclination leads to the death of the hero.

Noir femme fatale is an epitome of femininity: irresistibly seductive, two-faced, and insatiable in bed ,she is a symbol of a typical male phobia about women. She attracts, but also scares, that gives relationship an element of the game and sharpness.

Also sometimes behind the femme fatale there is a vulnerable victim (Rita Hayworth in “Gilda”).
