The husband and wife team behind Klättermusen, the Swedish outdoor clothing end equipment specialists, went into business because they were frustrated by what was on offer elsewhere.
To begin with, Peter Askulv and his wife, Eva-both outdoor enthusiasts-focused on rock climbing. That was 25 years ago. Today the company makes clothing and accessories just as suited to hiking and skiing.
There may be flashier gear out there, but few brands can match Klättermusen for attention to detail. With an emphasis on functionality and durability, this clothing’s not just for show. Clever detailing and sustainable materials, such as Kevlar and organic cotton, are Klättenmusen hallmarks.
Our favorite combo-and just the thin for ski/skate touring-is the Einride jacket ($515) and Gleipner pants ($445). Made from highly breathable organic cotton, these windproof lightwear duds are soft and comfortable. No wonder they have been best sellers for years.
